Default Buy this sub or go with the SVS?

So I recently made a thread about my current sub, ED A300, which was making a weird noise. Well before I had a chance to try and fix it, the thing pretty much died on me.

So now i'm in the market for a new sub. I've heard lots of great things about the SVS subs and had my mind set on getting this one

http://www.amazon.com/SVS-12-inch-30...=svs+subwoofer

but i've just seen a JBL sub whose price has gone down 60% from its original. I guess it's a labor day sale

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product?ASIN=B00166ZFSO

seems to have good specs and all and its only $200.

Anyone got this sub and is it worth the punt? Or should I just go with the SVS? Thanks

I would go with the SVS SB-1000 subwoofer.

Being an SVS subwoofer customer, I can vouch for there outstanding quality and customer service.

cant tell if that JBL is ported or not.

Anyways, as you can tell in my sig I have th SB-1000 and love it. Their PB-1000 is the same price, digs down to 19Hz and is ported

Personally, if your main source is music, I'd go sealed. (Jazz, Rock etc.)
If movies, I'd go with the ported.I have a friend with the PB, it's good with both. If you listen to a lot of bass heavy music (Dubstep, Rap, etc.) the PB would be better in my opinion.

I got the SB after talking with one of their people that you can chat with on there site. He suggested that I go with the SB over the PB because of the small size of my room and not wanting to shake the people above me's room.

SVS all the way. I am now selling my SVS SB12 NSD that is less than a year old for a PB13 Ultra. This will be my 3rd SVS sub.

Your home theater is in your bedroom, so you would be better off keeping your SB12 and adding another one to your setup.

Dual subwoofers are far more beneficial, than going with a single sub, regardless of how low that Ultra goes.

+1
Adding another will typically add 6db to what you already have.

Did you know that you can trade in your current sub to SVS, since it is less than a year old, for full credit towards the PB13? You just have to pay to ship it back. I'm sure you'd get more out of it trading it in at full price minus shipping rather than selling it used, and the hassle of selling it.

I don't wanna fool with shipping it and the cost. Rather sell local.
