Hmm... so much for this being a Play exclusive back in 09 (?)

I guess the original won't be going for huge bucks on ebay now.

Will it keep the blue banner ?? Will it keep the same high gloss finish which we used to have on steelbooks ?? Or will it be a Matt finish. Maybe they'll throw in some debossing and embossing. We'll have to wait

It's reported that zavvi are getting assistance from HDN over titles and new packaging

The real problem is do you risk buying it now and put up with months if emails saying sorry it's not in stock yet!

I think KRP's point is a valid one that LE steelbooks from the niche companies like Eureka is much more likely to stay unique when OOP than one from a Hollywood studio.

Both the studios and retailers can see the value of reissuing Star Trek as a steelbook to tie into the new film's release. They now it will sell to not just steelbook collectors but those just wanting to buy the film as they have been reminded about it by the new one.

Probably the only steel that I like the blue banner on.

This is like re releasing the FS Iron Man steel, imagine that? The entire forum would implode....

At least mine will still have the original stickers.

Ordered the second one as its a Zavvi exclusive, the first one is just a re release of the play steelbook. Therefore in my opinion the black one seems more exclusive and individual, so I want that one.

OK now i'm worried about my Trek Steelbook. My Casablanca steel that I ordered from Zavvi arrived a couple of days ago and I'm not impressed by the packaging, I don't know how it arrived here in Australia undamaged, it was a very simple cardboard envelope, I wish all the online companies would offer an option to pay, I dunno an extra 5 dollars or something to have the Steelbook packed more securely! I now hope when my Star Trek Steel gets here it arrives undamaged
