Default Sony VPL-HW50ES Help with 3D

I have the Sony HW50ES projector and I love it. I've had it since April and couldn't be happier with the picture.

Anyway, I recently put a 3D bluray in and the image wasn't right. I don't know if the proper term is ghosting or aliasing or if those are interchangeable but I can see the 3D image and I can see the same image right next to it - like I'm seeing double.

This didn't used to be a problem. The 3D image has always been amazing. I thought maybe it just a new disc I bought so I put in Hugo (which I usually use to show visitors the 3D and I know used to look perfect) and still have the same problem. I have not changed any equipment and I haven't changed any settings.

If anyone has experience with Sony 3D projectors and has any suggestions on how to correct this issue, I would appreciate it. I hate that I just paid $4000 for this projector and I'm already having issues with it.

In this order:
1. Check that glasses are actually turned on.
2. Check that there are no obstacles between the glasses and 3D emitter.
3. If an external emitter was plugged in, recheck its connection

If 1 and 2 aren't an issue it could be a problem with either the internal 3D emitter or external one if used.

I have a 30ES that came with an external emitter that is near the front of the screen. No issues so far. IR is a proven technology so the likelihood the transmitter failed is low.

The glasses are on - I can see the 3D image. There's just a very faint ghost around it.

My emitter is internal and I sit directly under the projector.

Sounded like your glasses batteries died.

Do you have manuals and stuff? Are there adjustments you can make to the 3D?

Maybe you should ask at AVSForum since a lot of people have that pj there.

I have the VW-60 and used to use it for 3D through a third party gizmo. These days though I watch 3D on a plasma flat screen instead.
