Default Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - 2018 release

I have a suspicion this is gonna see a lot of discussion as release approaches and since we haven't had a dedicated thread since the 2003-04 release, took the plunge and started one.
Currently, both Right Stuff and Tokyo Otaku Mode (TOM) have these up for pre-sale order (probably others as well);

Prices: (current 26 Sep 18)

RS: $99.98usd ea.

TOM: $99.98usd ea. (plus $29.98 cash back offer, TOM points)

Personally, the TOM cash back offer is very enticing, so not sure what RS will bring to the game as incentive.

Fullmetal is one word, though.

This ain't Full Metal Jacket nor Panic.

As a huge Fullmetal Alchemist fan I want these but I also have the Funi sets so I really don't need to buy them. Decisions decisions.

I purposefully collected the dvd releases from Funi when they were first coming out just because the bluray was more expensive and still close to dvd quality anyways.

So, I'm upgrading with these)

I'm assuming the $29.99 cash back offer at TOM is only for premium members? Sorry, I've only ordered a figure from them once so I'm clueless.

If the complete series were $99.99 then I'd be interested but I don't like FMA enough to pay $200 for it. Really nice looking sets though.

I'm in for it. Pretty fair pricing for a 64 episode series (especially from Aniplex), and I can burn my Punimation releases.

I hate FUNimation as much as you guys, but wouldn’t burning it be a bad idea?

I am still trying to sell my Funi copies cause I want these. Seems like nobody is interested though. Probably cause most people have them.

I wound up listing mine on eBay last night and sold them this morning, using the funds to pay off my AoA sets. It probably helped that they have an active coupon today, though.

We can just Transmutate them through the Gate to get rid of them for good - I even have the Gate in my basement, sitting on top of my Left Front theater speaker.

Probably because of all the bootleg copies littering eBay last time I checked.

I did not become a TOM Premium member, as I was unsure how often I would actually purchase from them.
I've still accumulated "cash back" points regardless (currently have $56 built up) so although the amount of cash back points may be different for Premium members, those of us whom just do sporadic purchases receive them as well.

Edit: well, I apologize for the duff gen. Apparently I AM a Premium Member (have been since April 2018) but once more, my Alzheimer's kicked in. So that would explain more accurately why I have so many points built up...sorry.
And I agree, the price to join is peanuts ($15usd) compared to the savings one can establish (especially with such weighty items as this 2 box set).

Still worth it to become a Premium member because you get more points back than the cost of the membership, plus you get bigger discounts and cheaper shipping, and if you join through a referral from a current member you get a 5% off coupon.

Yeah, I made the mistake of buying one of those bootlegs.

I'll definitely need to pick up these sets.

Just placed my order with TOM for both Box 1 & 2.
I received $59.97 in "cash back" TOM points ( as a Premium Member).
A pretty good deal imho....
I used my Credit Card for this one as the Paypal fee would have been brutal.
I'm hoping they will have completed their 'warehouse move' by the time this is due for shipment (should be) and hopefully there are no other delays forthcoming.

Interesting.
That would be news. I've had to pay fees with other sites.

You can also just put your credit card on file with Paypal and use your credit card when you check out with Paypal. Just another layer of protection. But also there have been times when there was a deal by using paypal.
