France Ernest & Celestine

Any news on Ernest & Celestine DVD/BluRay?

I saw this utterly wonderful animation at London Film Festival last year. I must own it.

I only posted the link so that members/visitors have a basic idea what the film looks like, not as a confirmation that there will be English subtitles.

France Ernest et Célestine

StudioCanal are set to release Ernest et Célestine in France on April 16th.

TRAILER
https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=10664

Quote:
Last year, the film won the SACD Prize (Directors' Fortnight) - Special Mention at the Cannes Film Festival. This year, the film won Cesar Award for Best Animated Picture.

In normal bear life, it is frowned upon to make friends with a mouse. But Ernest, a big bear, a clown and musician who lives on the fringes of bear society, nonetheless welcomes little Celestine into his home. She is an orphan and has fled the mouse world down below. These two solitary characters find support and comfort in one another, but in the process, fly in the face of convention, upsetting the established order.

How come French BDs never seem to have English subs? (Or at least their animated ones.) Wish they did... So many of their animated films just don't seem like they will get US releases.

With that said, Ernest & Celestine is being distributed by GKIDS, and considering it is a fairy big film, I think it has a good chance at getting a US BD release.

Is there any news on a US release? I'm hoping the US will get it on Blu-Ray.

The US are getting a Blu-Ray release on Jun 10, 2014 (https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Ernes...Blu-ray/90517/). I'm guessing this will at least have english subtitles.
