Japan What do we know about Wild Zero?

Who owns the Japanese rights, and are they likely to release it on blu-ray? Was it a very popular film in Japan?

Don't know about the rights, but I'm guessing a Blu is very unlikely. When Synapse released the U.S. DVD, Don said that an anamorphic version wasn't possible due to the fact that the film was edited in standard def on a computer. I guess someone could go back and redo everything, but I highly doubt that'll happen. Guitar Wolf tried to solicit funds for a sequel a few years ago and apparently failed to make it happen. A shame, 'cause I'd love to have a high-def version with a redlined lossless soundtrack.

Ach. That hurts me. Sigh.

Well, at least I have the Synapse and the Japanese DVDs.
