Canada Roku device for UV playback

Is there anyone in Canada that uses the Roku device for using Flixster to access their UV collection on their TV/home theatre.

If so, how is the Roku at streaming using WiFi? Is it a solid connection or does it get buggy due to weak signal?

Have you found a way to get USA apps such as VUDU on your device working properly with the UV account or for streaming in general?

Anything you have to say about the device please feel free to share.

Thanks

The Flixster Roku app actually doesn't support UV! It just shows trailers and the like. Would Target Ticket work for you in Canada? Its UV compatible and on Roku

I have the Roku XS, their high end model before the new refresh. One in the living room is wired, and the upstairs one is WiFi. Although I get a full bars signal up there, it strangely loses connectivity sometimes. Fast forwarding or rewinding on Netflix, Vudu, Time Waner app,etc seems to choke it sometimes. Have to reconnect it to my network, but at least it remembers the settings.

A spontaneous reboot happens upstairs sometimes too.

I haven't spent a lot of time troubleshooting it; but perhaps the new Roku 3 is heartier?

But for the value, variety of channels and ease of use for the entire household, it's still an amazing little box!

The Roku 3 is better than the XS that I returned once the Roku 3 was announced. The Roku 3 works on 5 GHz which is not crowded like 2.4 Ghz is especially in apartment complex's.

That's good to know. I have a dual band router, but very few devices that will take advantage of that!

Maybe I'll sell mine off and upgrade!

My Roku's 3 Netflix app just updated today to look like the PS3's and allows multiply streaming users per Netflix account.

We will see soon enough. I bought one here in Florida and got all the important channels registered and working. I wonder if any will work from Canada...I suspect not, but it doesn't hurt to try I guess, worst case, I have to update with Canadian channels. I think there is a way but I need access to my router to change some settings.

I would go with the Roku 2 at least. Use the CinemaNow app if you are in Canada.
