Yeah, I read on Wikipedia (yeah, I know) that OLED is susecptible to burn-in. Can someone confirm this? I tried googling...

Here's what I found: http://www.oled-info.com/oled-tv

Read the section,"The Future of OLED". This information may or may not be accurate.

It was a good idea for it to be discontinued because most of us aren't ready to jump on the bandwagon yet.

Plain old OLED, maybe.

AMOLED is being currently used in Samsung, Nokia, HTC phones.
They are not being used much for large screen displays, though LG apparently is going to be selling a 31" oled display some time this year. Will likely cost a pretty penny.

I wonder if LG and Samsung has solved this problem with their forthcomming (W)OLED screens.

Is it burn in or just image retention. CRT's used to have burn in but I believe things had to stay on the screen for a long time, example my Grandma had a six burnt into the top corner of her screen because she displayed the channel all the time.

Nothing is permanent. Everything's on loan here. Even your wife and kids could be gone next year.

There are many reports of burn-in on smartphones that use OLED screens, but I've never experienced anything of the sort on mine (I have had a Galaxy Nexus and currently use a Note 3).

I think OLED burn-in is real, but you'd probably have to leave an image on there for days or weeks for it to happen.

I know the Nexus 7" tablet I was playing with in Best Buy had a nasty ghosting issue. I don't know if it has OLED screen or AMOLED, but that's a freaking deal breaker for me.

Practically all tablets on the market are LCD. There are only two OLED tablets, one by Samsung and the other by Toshiba.

Burn-in is the least of the Vita's problems. That device must have the worst OLED display ever released onto the consumer market. I can't believe they thought that blotches and mura effects were acceptable.
