Mama, a fun haunted house film with a magnificently realised ghost, which I far preferred to the overrated The Conjuring.

Apparently it made $27 million world wide on a $1 million budget. That's pretty impressive for a small indie film in terms of box office.

Depends how you frame it. If you mean film that didn't get the attention it deserved and not enough people saw / talked about? Hands down, The Way Way Back.

If you mean one where it got mediocre reviews but I personally thought was really good? Man of Tai Chi.

Only God Forgives, Out of the Furnace, and Maniac are all in my top 10 for the year and neither of them have been particularly well received.

As far as overrated goes I would say Frances Ha. It's not bad, just overrated.

The Counselor is appropriately rated.

You're Next was the best horror film of the year. I would definitely call it underrated since there are so many people that randomly disliked it.

Only God Forgives - I get not liking this, but I don't get liking Drive but not this

Olympus Has Fallen - a great, old-school action film
