I have not sold anything on eBay for ages.
However, I recently told The Hobbit digiboook Blu for $10 plus $1.99 for shipping. I just got an invoice from eBay for $3.20. Oh, they were generous enough to discount me 30 cents. Are you ****ing kidding me? After the shipping, eBay, and Paypal fees, seems about pointless to sell Blus anymore on there. |

They charge 10% as the final value fee.
And get this: they also charge you a final value fee on SHIPPING. Which isn't even their service. They do have a shipping program that gives you a discount, but it's usually around $0.30 or less. If you think about it, that discount is sh*t considering they charge you a final value fee for whatever the buyer sends you for shipping. And it gets funnier: Paypal, an eBay company, charges you $0.30 PLUS 2.9% of whatever eBay sends your way (after fees of course). I think the site has gone to the dogs now. No wonder nobody sells there as much anymore. That's why they give you "free listings" even though that's what they pretty much did in the old days back when the final value fees on the item were only about 7%. |

I stopped selling t here months ago
Too much hassle. Tired of the obscene fees and overall unfriendly attitude toward the seller. They still say I owe them money even though I sold nothing during the time period they are charging me for. I will never pay them. |

I stopped trying to sell on eBay once they instituted the payment freeze for new sellers until 10 career seller transactions. I was never going to sell very often but for the few times I did before the change, it was easy. Now it's a complete chore and heavily skewed in the buyers favor. ebay caters to power sellers, even more so than what amazon is doing with their "restricted" sales. I stopped selling years ago because it was obvious they were pushing out the regular joes for the big company power sellers

I know that I will sound like the world's biggest idiot here, but I've never sold anything on eBay, simply because the process is too complicated for my tastes.
I've sold a few things (DVD box sets, gym equipment, books) on Craigslist for decent money, because I can arrange to meet the buyer in the parking lot of the Target store across the street from my place, show them the goods, take cash from them right on the spot, and then go along on my merry way. I sold most of my DVD collection to a local independent used store that pays fair prices (I received more money for certain DVD titles than I paid for them in the first place.). I'd probably have received a few dollars more for the DVDs had I sold them individually on eBay, but the end result would probably be the same after associated fees. With the used store, I simply took big stacks of DVDs into the store and walked out with cash in hand. It's all good. I'm all about simplicity, even at my own occasional expense. When I factor in the associated expense and the time spent to sell things on eBay, it does not seem worth it. |

I agree Tony. To me eBay basically double dips with their charges and then PP. I haven't sold in a couple of years, but I lost money by the time they got done with me. I really wish there was a competitor out there that was like eBay was in the beginning. Unfortunately like most things I don't think they'd be able to keep up with what eBay has become. I still buy things, but I won't ever sell anything.

I'm currently having an eBay issue. I recently sold something which when it left my hands was in very good condition. Evidently it was damaged in shipping or the buyer is flat out lying because he claimed it was not in good condition, and he left me negative feedback without saying anything to me. I have had over 300 transactions on eBay without ever receiving negative feedback. For some reason it is really bothering me, I feel this was an attack on my integrity.
