Fingers crossed this is true.. sending email to Roadshow () now to try and get some confirmation or details.

I hope so as it's a great movie, to be honest it's 1 of my favorites. I used to love reading all my dads Footrot books when I was a kid, my dad brought his collection with him when we moved to Australia from New Zealand when I was very young.

Will definately consider getting that, hopefully it gets a cool release like a steelbook or something. Dreams are free.

Oh no.

Say it ain't so, trying to do an abstinence on blu-ray buying is like abstaining from sex, highly impossible. GODDAMMIT!!!!

I have the DVD, I always loved the strip, and loved the movie from when I was a kid. Also love the song, one of my favs.

The movie is still been released by Magna Pacifc, so I wouldn't have high hopes for video quality. I wouldn't be surprised if it was only an upscale of the previous DVD master.

The packaging doesn't look good either, another cardboard digipack. Many of their recent re-releases of animated series on DVD use thin cardboard, and frequently store discs between the cardboard.

I think your forgetting how great it looked and sounded on DVD. I'd be quite happy with the DVD master they used for their Collectors Edition, being used on this BD release. No it won't be upscaled either.

Lol, I said the same thing to my fiancee last night. If the DVD version is anything to go off then this will be a great blu release, since the dvd version already has really good P&AQ.

Yeah the only thing I would like to see/hear, is maybe a new Foley soundtrack (as a bonus feature extra track).

The DVD release had good video quality, but it was the exception. The majority of animated titles released on DVD by Magna Pacific suffer from video quality issues.

Also Magna Pacific have only released a few animated titles on Blu-Ray, with a recent Pokemon movie (Zoroark: Master of Illusions ) not even been at full HD resolution (720p only) on Blu-Ray.

Default Yes, Footrot is coming to Blu-ray in December

There is a DVD re-issue of 'Footrot Flats' scheduled for 01 December in Au and NZ. It would appear that it is essentially contains the same features and extras as the previous Magna R4 release.
On the same date, a Region B Blu-ray version will also be released in Au & NZ. They both have a suggested selling price of $19.95. The scan bar code of the Blu-ray package is: 9343970004205
Information so far says that the Blu-ray will contain the same features and extras as the DVD, execpt that it will be presented 1080p. I will have further details at my Footrot Flats page, as they become available, but probably not until mid-November.

Wish there was a collector's edition where its bundled with that hardcover 500 page book. The packaging does look nice though & whilst I remember the animation was pretty darn good nostalgia can sometimes be an ugly thing
