Yeah, this is where I'm stuck at too. I've seen $10 Google Play cards at stores like Target and Best Buy but I think you have to set up a Google Wallet account to use those. And I don't know what's involved with that.

It would have been nice to have on Google Play, but not at the cost of my credit card info. It's bad enough that they forced Google Plus upon you, if you wished to continue to use YouTube.
Plus I already got the extended Triology on iTunes for free about 3-4 years ago. Someone I knew gave me his digital code after buying the BD set. |

Good God you folks over analyze EVERYTHING!
![]() Honestly, I'm not criticizing, I just find it amusing to watch unfold. Take a step back here and think about what you are talking about....
A month ago I would never had given this a second thought. However last week I made the switch from iPhone to Galaxy 5. As such, I'm now a new Google user. I added this but it told me I needed a payment method, so I linked my Paypal account. I would have had to have done this eventually anyway. I now have my first movie in my account, so I appreciate the OP. |

I deleted my Google Plus and have no problems using YouTube. Google used to require a G+ profile if you wanted to comment on videos. That requirement was removed after extensive negative feedback.

If you don't want the movie, fine, no problem. I didn't grab it either. But then I'm not hiding behind some lame attempt at tin foil hattery with "oh noez, they will have access to my account and I'll suddenly be charged for everything even when I beg them to stop!" (yes, exaggeration/hyperbole). It's like the people who started ranting and raving about how the Facebook messenger was going to hijack all your options and assets for seemingly nefarious reasons, unaware apparently that there is a legit reason for damn near everything. Can't connect your calls without access to your mic, can't take pictures/do face time or whatever, without access to your camera, and the list goes on. IN our lives we give up our info to everyone, particularly if we are online. Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Apple, etc. Either live as a hermit off the grid in a bunker somewhere, or stop complaining about a service that is not charging your account, it just requests a billable entry as does most other services. Sony is the same way. You can't add a PS+ membership without a debit card, even if you have zero plans on using it. It's called ease of use and you don't have to keep entering the same info over and over and over. I understand the desire to keep info safe, and in this world we live in now that has made Person of Interest look incredible prophetic considering where we are now as opposed to where we were when that show first started (seriously, it's creepy), I absolutely get that. I just think some take it a bit far, considering how much of our privacy we willingly give up regularly. |

Also you can also put in a prepaid credit card with $1 balance to get all the free Google music and movies if you want to protect your real credit info. |

Good god...I think I was just blinded by all the tin foil hats in this thread.
![]() So I presume everyone who is concerned have never used their CC# at Target, Home Depot, Sony (PSN), and many other retailers that have been hacked with millions of CC# & user info stolen. You guys should try looking yourself up on sites like Spokeo and Zaba Search. The truth of the matter is Google already knows more about you that you do. |
