Default Suggest projector for a small room

My room is 10 by 14. The budget I'm looking at is 999 dollars and under.

Any help is very appreciated.

I think the BenQ W1070 fits that description well. I have it in a roughly 9x10 room and currently get an 80" screen with it ceiling mounted as far back as it can go. I could probably actually go up to 90" or so but my speaker placement and corner bass traps restrict that. It's praised for being a light canon (good for 3D I guess, haven't got to try that cause I don't have glasses yet, also good for cutting through ambient light but I have blackout curtains up and watch 90 percent at night so that wasn't too important for me), amazing color accuracy out of the box, good shadow detail and contrast for the price (definitely not plasma blacks though, but it's good enough for me. Should look even better once I get an actual screen with CineGrey material). It's really small and light weight, has a small amount of vertical shift (supposedly unheard of at this price point), 144hz dlp link for 3D. Also has full calibration controls including ISF day and night modes (locked but you can find the password with a quick search), color management, etc.

Some cons I guess are rainbow effect if you're sensitive to that. I have seen it if I really look for it, but I'm one of the people it doesn't bother. It doesn't come with glasses but you can get a third party set of 2 for like $40 I believe if 3D means anything to you. Without horizontal shift placement is key, took me a while to mount it correctly. Contrast isn't the greatest but a CineGrey screen should help you get the most out of it.

All in all I think it's definitely worth giving a look. It is my first projector but I'm satisfied with it, so you can take that however you wish.

Would an Epson Home Cinema 2030 still work in a small room?

The OP may also want to consider a BenQ W1080ST projector.
Since the room is so small, a short throw projector might be a better choice.
