I'd go with Skyfall. Awesome music and cinematography.

Oblivion is a great choice. Great M83 soundtrack and great special effects.

All Is Lost and Gravity are good choices as well.

The Criterion Collection Blu-ray of Tess is quite remarkable.

Avatar is always a good choice as a reference disc. I love the bio-luminescent scenes visually and there are plenty of good action sequences for audio.

Apocalypto's waterfall sequence remains one of my favorite demo scenes.

For PQ/AQ? I'd start with TRON: Legacy.

This.

I'd second Gravity as well, but I haven't seen the BD yet (only saw it in the theater).

And if you want them, I have both Pacific Rim and Oblivion on my trade thread. If you don't have any of my wants, all you'd have to do is order a couple of the ones that are on the cheap right now on Amazon and then ship them to me for those two. My thread:

If you are just showing off, Star Wars Episode III is pretty good - especially how it dumps you right into a major action scene. And the R2 cut aways are really nice sound-wise.

Wasn't Pacific Rim's bass filtered, along with The Hobbit and Star Trek Into Darkness?

I would suggest.... Your favorite movie. Whatever it is.. it should sound great.... and you will be watching your favorite film. It doesn't get any better than that.
