'Missing' has been released on blu-ray in Italy:
![]() http://www.amazon.it/Missing-Scomparso-Jack-Lemmon/dp/B00V1DYIP8/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1433036911&sr=1-2&keywords=scomparso The Amazon.it listing states Italian audio, Italian subtitles and that the blu-ray is PAL, but sources online suggest this has the original English audio and the correct frame rate. Can anyone confirm the specifications please? |

I've just found your posting (I don't usually look at the Italy section!). 'Missing' is one of my most wanted titles on Blu, so I too would be very interested to know for sure whether this BD has the original English soundtrack (rather than just an Italian dubbed version).
Anyone? |

According to him, the disc looks pretty good, native HD. |

I *hope* Criterion will upgrade 'Missing', but it's not certain. I think they'll more likely upgrade 'Z' as they'll have access to the new restoration. It was known for a while that Criterion had both 'The Confession' and 'State Of Siege', but I don't think their releases mean anything regarding 'Missing', and also I think the recent newsletter clue is for 'Young And Innocent' and not 'Missing' as upgrade clues always include some blue and that one didn't.
I haven't had the chance to watch the film yet, but I did sync up the English subtitles from the Criterion DVD... There isn't much non-English dialogue, but to my surprise it was a waste of time for the most part, as there are hardcoded English subtitles on the Italian blu-ray for the majority of the non-English dialogue anyway. The PQ looks solid. Very English friendly. Definitely worth picking up if you don't want to wait. |
