Kadokawa is issuing the "Ringu" / "Ring" movie series for the first time in HD, in anticipation for "Sadako 3D" in theaters in May.

Audio and Subtitles in Japanese only, and the only extras are theatrical trailers for each movie.

some neat covers there for the most part. Too bad most of the movies sucked. I think I only liked Ringu really.

Seems my post with screenshots and info was deleted when the site was having problems, I'll try to find the shots and re-post them within the next few days.
I did however find subs on this site http://www.subtitleseeker.com/ that worked perfectly well with the blu-rays of parts 1 and 2 on my PC.

Hello. I bought the first film. No subs. I synced it to a DVD script, with some minor timing adjustments. Quality's decent. Nothing revelatory but the disc is a nice upgrade for fans of the film.

Hello. Yes, I did this all on my HTPC. The OAR is 1.85:1. Looks like the Blu's faithful. I don't have my old DVD copy around to compare framing and such, unfortunately, but the framing looks right to me.

I know these releases aren't English friendly but I'm curious to know what the video and audio quality is like for these blu-rays if anyone owns them.

It's frustrating that there still hasnt been a western release for this. Arrow Video would be the best distributor for this franchise since they released Dark Water and Pulse.

Ring and Ju-on are long overdue for a blu-ray release.

Why the hell this J-Horror movies not released on Blu-Ray or 4K Blu-ray in U.S. yet I know Asia Extreme who had the rights until they went bankrupt and sold it to some small shady company who has done shit with the Asia Extreme movies.

Ringu and Ju-on series both deserve a nice box set hell bring them to streaming also.

I only have the first Ring film. It's fine. It won't win any awards but the A/V quality is fine in my eyes. It has reasonable grain and doesn't seem sharpened to my eyes. Everything looks nice and natural.
