Default Who Are The Top 10 Blu-Ray Disc Manufactuers For Consumer Discs?

I'm doing an industry project on the blu-ray disc market for my class which requires me to find the top 10 manufacturers and for the life of me can't find them online. Are they the founding members of the BDA?

You can do a look up on Google to find the different Manufacturers. I use to use Verbatim, when I did Back-ups but there's also Maxell, Ritek, Panasonic, Sony, and many others.

I used to use Taiyo Yuden for my recordable DVD's, but they also manufactured Blu-rays. These were always made in Japan up until fairly recently, and were regarded as one of the best discs to buy. I have used Verbatim as well.

Never used them, but TDK and JVC also manufactured discs, although perhaps JVC's discs were made by another company on their behalf - not sure on that one.

You may find a lot of the brands don't necessarily make their own media. Many of the big name brands just buy the media from another source and put their logo on the disc.

The ones I use are Falcon, Optical Quantum and Microboards. None of these are well known consumer brands but they do make their own media and often license it to Phillips, TDK etc.

True. I remember buying a batch of Verbatim discs in a 'cake box' which were marked up as being 'Made In Japan' and turns out they were actually manufactured by Taiyo Yuden. You could always tell as TY's discs had a unique code around the centre of their discs.
