Default Internet Explorer issues?

We're currently doing some testing in IE which might break the forum functionality. If you are experiencing any problems while using IE, please let us know what isn't working and what version of IE you are using.

Thanks

I'm running IE 10 and no issues. I like the cleaner look you have developed.

Forum posting is broken with IE11 (11.0.9600.16521). Every attempt to post results in the following message:

Quote:
The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters.
Compatibility mode doesn't seem to have an affect on resolving the error. Currently using Firefox to post this message.

EDIT: The font text in the reply box shows up as Times New Roman. However, the gap that existed between Video Games menu option and the sub options has disappeared. Also a few issues with the drop down search list from the search bar have been resolved.

Thanks rdodolak, that's exactly what I'm looking for.

Ok, I've configure the forum to use IE10 instead of IE11 as default, please try again and let me know if you get the same problem/error when posting.

Marwin, no change of behavior. I also tried using the developer tools of the browser to always refresh from the server to clear any cached values. The following error popped up in the debugger window when trying to post a new reply (newreply.php):

"Unable to get property 'prepare_submit' of undefined or null reference"

This error is displayed under the following line:

Quote:
<form action="newreply.php?do=postreply&amp;t=239737" name="vbform" method="post" onsubmit="return vB_Editor['vB_Editor_001'].prepare_submit(0, 1)">
Next error results happens in vbulletin_textedit.js in:

"Object doesn't support property or method 'createStyleSheet'

for the following code:

Quote:
{this.editdoc.createStyleSheet().cssText=wysiwyg_c sstext}

Great info, that will help in debugging and possibly fixing this issue in IE

Ok, just to make sure the problem is with the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor, try to post a reply to this thread and make sure to click on in the top right to switch to the standard editor instead of the fancy WYSIWYG one.

Does that mode work?

That button nor any of the other reply buttons (bold, italics, hyperlink, image, etc) seem to work. Posted this with FireFox.

I'm gonna revert things for now, but this looks like one of the problems related to IE11:

Looks like the reversion put things back to normal along with some of the normal issues. at MS. Guess MS is trying to get up to modern standards by eliminating legacy API features.

I do desktop support and I loath IE 11. What's worse is reverting them back to 10 creates even more issues. Good luck with what you were doing because it did look.

Ok, I'm giving this a second try now (I've patched the javascript file for the wysiwyg editor). Let me guys know if you have problems posting with IE11.

I'm using IE 8 and it doesn't want to log me in after I sign in. After I sign in it redirects like it is going to sign in. But after that it I'm not signed in.

Also having issues with Firefox 20
When I click on my user name in the top hand right corner. Instead of taking me to my subscribed forums and threads. It takes me directly to the site preferences page.

The username link was temporarily not working, it wasn't related to the IE changes. The login thing sounds weird, did you try to login both from the site front page as well as the forum front page?

Marwin,

I noticed this morning in IE10 when you hover over a link it does not expand the title of the thread anymore.

Edit: this only happens on the front page of the forum under the last post heading. Inside a sub forum it works.
