So according to the backcover, we're getting a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 treatment and a 140min Extended Cut.

Out on September 14th 2009.

Like I said on the German topic, there was no topic (unless my search didn't work). Hence why I created this topic, to discuss the release, not to announce it to the world.

How bloody awesome would that be?

But if all hope fails, I reckon I'll settle with the French Amazon version.

Default Do anyone know why the DVD is certified 12 and Blu Ray is 15 for Angels and Demons?

I think this is for the DVD
http://bbfc.co.uk/website/Classified...9?OpenDocument

I believe this is Blu ray
http://bbfc.co.uk/website/Classified...a?OpenDocument

And extended blu ray
http://bbfc.co.uk/website/Classified...5?OpenDocument

Why the difference in the age certification if none of these releases was cut, of course its awesome that they have restored the scenes on DVD and Blu ray that was cut in the theatrical release. But still pretty ?

According to the BBFC, while the film was passed with no cuts made, this was because Ron Howard sought advice throughout the editing process to find out what he could and could not include to secure the 12A rating. So if the extended cut has put back in stuff that he took out to get the 12A, then I guess that would make it a 15.

Don't think its region free. On the backcover it is only marked with the letter B

i just bought from cdnow.com.nz new zealand shows sept 14 release date for Blu-ray A region. They showed like 3 blu-rays for the movie and its confusing as to knowing which one to go with.

I went ahead and ordered the one showing the earliest release date and contacted customer service if it was a wrong product slot and to refund me the amount if that was the case.

It's a recent release from Sony, not a back catalogue title. So it's not that strange it's region locked. Sony releases both locked and region free titles.

I bought the Dutch release today and found out that it's better than the UK release in terms of extras. The UK release has only one disc while the Dutch release has two discs.

The UK release is missing the folowing extras:

- "Writing Angels & Demons" Featurette (10:09)
- "Characters in the Search of the True Story" Featurette (17:10)
- "Handling Props" Featurette (11:35)
- "This Is an Ambigram" Featurette (4:46)

Aye the French release came with 2 discs as well. The horrible resolution of the back printed made my eyes turn away before I could analyse what it contained.

Unhappy Angels and Demons on PS3 problem

I'm having problems with the Angles and Demons (UK, Single Disc) feature "The Path of Illumination" on my PS3. It simply hangs when you tell it to play, with the play symbol (the triangle) stuck in the lower left of a black blank screen. None of the remote buttons work (including the PS button) apart from the eject button.

I've tried it with BD-Live enabled and disabled. And yes, I do have the lastest firmware. All the other functions, including BD-Live and Movie IQ work fine.

I've also noted that since the last firmware update I cannot load Sony's Pineapple Express unless I disable BD-Live. Has anyone else had this problem?
