A follow up of sorts to his earlier film, the seminal Caliber 9 (1972), Blood and Diamonds (1977) blasts its way into familiar poliziotteschi territory, leaving scars, bullets and tire tracks in its bloody wake. After being set up by the Mafia gang he is part of, Guido (Claudio Cassinelli) is sent to prison but upon he vows to take revenge on those who betrayed him. Another must for all collectors of high octane Italian crime thrillers from the 1970s.

It looks like a regular cardboard slipcover, at least that was my impression when I ordered it.

I'm more curious if it's more of an Arrow box or if it's more of a Criterion type of box as I know 88 switches between the two.

Arrow style, it has the "Blu-Ray Disc" portion at the top.

It's a cardboard slipcover similar to several that I have from Arrow. The included poster is about 11.5 x 16.5 inches (29 x 42 cm) and has both the newer and original artwork on alternate sides.

That's what I thought I was. I didn't think it came in a slipcase, like some of their other recent Italian Collection releases.

I'm just glad this title got a release. We are getting a ton of Italian crime films now, and I hope some of the other oversea ones get releases here as well.

Cineploit in Germany has been releasing one poliziotteschi after another on blu-ray. I can't keep up.
