Kingsglaive: Final fantasy - Blu-ray Forum

The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the hallowed Crystal, but the menacing empire of Niflheim will stop at nothing to make it theirs. War has raged between the two for as long as most can remember. King Regis of Lucis commands an elite force of soldiers dubbed the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king's magic, Nyx Ulric and his fellow glaives stand before the crown city of Insomnia, fighting to stay the inexorable advance of Niflheim's imperial army. Before the overwhelming military might of the empire, King Regis can only salvage his kingdom by accepting an ultimatum-he must cede all lands outside the crown city, and see his son, Prince Noctis, wed to Lady Lunafreya, the former princess of Tenebrae now captive of Niflheim. As the war of wills rages, the machinations of Niflheim transform Insomnia into an awe-inspiring battleground, pulling Nyx into a struggle for the very survival of the kingdom.

Boy, this is awkward. You can only get the Brotherhood disc from the Steelbook, and the Deluxe edition contains only the movie, so you might have to buy Kingsgrave twice to get the complete package?

Hmm I wasn't aware of that. After seeing this I'm seriously considering just buying the Day 1 Edition Game and getting the Steelbook Blu-ray. The DLC isn't worth the extra price even if I am getting the GCU discount from Best Buy. I pre-ordered the Steelbook now just in case there are any price drops.

Hope to see clearer images of the steelbook. From what I can see zooming in, isn't making me want to keep my preorder.

Brotherhood will be included in the "Ultimate Collector's Edition" along with the game, Kingsglaive, a hardcover art book, and a Noctis figure. No word if Brotherhood will get a standalone release.

Square Enix Store is the exclusive distributor of that release, and of course pre-orders are sold out, but here's a link: https://store.na.square-enix.com/pro...-s-edition-ps4

Personally I hope the art book comes out as a standalone, didn't want to fork out all that $ for a figure I don't want.

Pre-ordered the PS4 Deluxe Edition several weeks ago, so will definitely be getting this on Blu-Ray (that's one hell of a freaking cast they've assembled for this thing), but that Ultimate Edition sure does look sweet (missed out on it both times it went up for ordering -- think it sold out in <30 minutes each time).

Isn't Brotherhood those short anime episodes that they put on youtube for free? It's almost like bonus material in that case. Sure, it might be cool to watch the little series on a nice TV but I feel like I can just hop on youtube if I want to check it out that badly.

If it comes along with my deluxe edition then cool. If not, oh well. I don't mind using youtube.

Evidently the Ultimate Edition is going to contain one exclusive, additional episode of Brotherhood that won't be available on YouTube, for what it's worth.

I was aware, but like you, I wasn't willing to fork that kind of money when I don't really want the figure (what is it what with collector's editions these days having a figure included?).

Given the option that I could get both titles in one steelbook, and I'd lose just Kingsglaive and some DLC in the Deluxe Edition of FFXV, I might consider gettin' the steelbook of Kingsglaive and just the Standard Edition.

Which can also very well be in the Brotherhood disc in the Steelbook edition.

Is there a 3D or 4K version of this? Was it rendered in either format? Or just in 1080? I know FFVII AC needed re-rendering for Blu-Ray into a higher quality. If there's a chance it'll be released in either 4K or 3D I'll wait.

I plan on getting the movie via the game's "deluxe edition". I just love the idea of getting the movie and game in one package in a steelbook with beautiful artwork by Amano. However, the fact that the only way you can get the Brotherhood anime via the standalone Kingsglaive steelbook is really bugging me. I want to own the episodes on a disc, but I don't want to have to double dip for both the deluxe edition of the game and the movie steelbook. Hopefully Square releases the anime standalone down the line.

On the Amazon US page, opinions seem to be divided as well, over whether or not the Steelbook edition of Kingsglaive will have Brotherhood included...

Yes it is confirmed to include both Kingsglaive and Brotherhood. As of right now, it is the only way to get Brotherhood on a physical disc here in the US without buying the Ultimate Collectors Edition for the game.

So they just announced DLC and a season pass for Final Fantasy XV the game. The season pass is only included in the digital deluxe, and not the physical deluxe edition. This is actually further reason to just buy the standard edition of the game, and then separately buy the movie since your savings only come to $1 if you have GCU and buy the deluxe edition from Best Buy and you still miss out on the Brotherhood anime.
