This is probably the best bigfoot movie (which isn't saying a whole lot, but still.)

I got the DVD from Big Lots for $3, I could see myself upgrading at the right price.

P.S. The creature's resemblance to character actor Jack Elam is startling.

I noticed this release only includes one of the two trailers that were on the original DVD. Any reason for this? It's strange that it's the only extra missing from the DVD. I'd love to pass on my DVD to a friend, but as a completist now I have to hold onto it.

This is $23.97 at Bullmoose, But you need $30 for free shipping so I also picked up Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon after the praise it's received on the forum.

It's been 22.99 at Best Buy for weeks. Lowest I've seen it was about 21.50 or 22.50 at DD after their recent 15% off code. But that deals over. It's a blind buy for me, so I'm waiting on sub $20 prices before making the gamble.

I pre-ordered as well at $22.99 on Amazon. This is a blind buy for me, and the thought of them cleaning up the reportedly goofy effects with new CGI sounds appealing to me. I'm reminded of Bad Moon and how the Blu Ray edit of the formerly terrible werewolf transformation scene made it a new classic for me.

Down to $17.59 this week only at Target. I'm thinking that might be as low as we see it for a while, if not ever.

I'm starting to get cold feet about having preordered this now. Might should have waited for a review, as I just found out they already released a new edition recut with CGI overseas on dvd in 2015 and reviews were not kind for the new effects. One can only assume they're using the same effects for this BD. And if I'm reading those specs right it looks like the original cut is in standard def only? Oh well, at least Target has a very generous return window - should give me time to verify before opening, as if the new CG ruins the film and the fallback isn't actually in HD, there doesn't seem to be much point.

In response to comments about the CGI effects, editor Chris Conlee said:
Quote:
we didn't add anything new. I strictly overcut the old movie with the new 2k scans. The vfx work was all re-done because the scans were higher quality than the originals. But the effects were done by the same artist. It's the same movie, it just looks more gorgeous.

Don't ever regret anything that you've done. Just look to the future and be optimistic.

I'm hard-pressed to imagine the new disc being a downgrade from the original 2006 presentation of the film. Everything will probably look pretty decent.

Thanks for the heads up. With the redcard discount, brings it down to $16.71 plus get free shipping.

Yep. I always just figure the redcard discount as a rough offset of tax. But it definitely pays to have their redcard if buying anything from Target, especially when ordering online. Same goes for BB's Visa and amazon's store card. Seems to be the latest marketing fad everywhere you go in fact, Lowes, Bass Pro Shops, etc, etc.

Is this being pushed back or something? Because I got a message on my Amazon order which says 'estimated arrival day July 30th-July 31st'...yet it's supposed to be released on June 12th...
