Most of these movies contain elements of 'sci-fi' but should hardly be labeled as science-fiction films. Spotless Mind, Never Let Me Go, Vanilly Sky; these are all dramas with a tinge of sci-fi.

Still sci-fi to me, buddy, the science-fiction elements are all key parts to the film, and not just a tinge.

They all qualify as science fiction and you will find them in reference books on the genre. Just Lost Highway doesn't fit. There is no science involved, it's a film about a psychogenic fugue state.

Alright, here is my list (in no order, but #1a & 1b is The Matrix & Inception ):

Total Recall (1990)
Riddick Trilogy
Minority Report
Inception
The Matrix
Oblivion
Edge Of Tomorrow
Prometheus
Star Trek (2009)
Super 8

Also, if Godzilla (2014) constitutes as sci-fi, then I’ll replace it with Super 8.
