Amazon France 'Lightning' Shipping

Anybody used Amazon.fr and their 'Lightning' shipping to the UK?

Having never used Amazon.fr before can anybody tell me how quick they dispatch orders?

Their standard shipping isn't too shabby, usually 3 days from despatch.

I've got several titles from France before via Amazon.
The express shipping nine times out of ten arrives in the UK the next day after despatch.
As for how long it takes to despatch a title I guess that very much depends from one title to another and what time during the day you place an order.
I've often ordered on the morning and had it despatched and received the next day but like what has already been said you don't wait too much longer using standard shipping so not used the express service of late.

No particular caveats using Amazon.fr, however, you need to watch out for forced french subtitles which can't be removed.

I got Nurse 3D from Amazon France last week via standard shipping. 3 days from order to delivery in Ireland.

That's better than Amazon UK/Royal Mail.

In my experience all Euro Amazon stores deliver quicker to the UK than from within the UK and that's always with standard shipping.

To be fair the Royal Mail must be more efficient round my part then as I always! receive the item the next day once despatched from Amazon UK

I think since Amazon started really pushing Prime, the issue is not Royal Mail but how long stuff awaits despatch.

Ordered La Reine Margot from Amazon.fr

Was ordered on Friday 25th July (late evening). Received dispatch email Monday 28th and it arrived Wednesday 30th.

Strangest thing is, it arrived via Royal Mail 24, so I wonder if it came to a UK Amazon Depot then was sent on.

Anyway, I think I'll be ordering a few other titles now now

I find most European site Amazon orders to myself in the UK seem to come with only a Royal Mail postage label. So they must bulk ship them themselves to the UK before handing over to Royal Mail
