The Drowning, the popular 2013 first person shooter game for Apple's iOS devices (iPhones, iPads), is set to get a film adaptation through Radar Pictures.

Olympus Has Fallen and The Expendables 3 scribes Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt are set to pen the adaptation of what's being described as an ecological horror tale.

The story deals with what happens when a deep-sea oil-drilling accident causes ancient micro-organisms to be released into the water supply of an island town off the Seattle coast.

Ted Field, Mike Weber, and Michael Napoliello are producing.
