Thanks for the review. Too bad they didn't bother with extras. Ordered it at 9,99£ yesterday. Great film; one of Huston's late best, along with Wise Blood and The Dead, both of which I would love to see on blu.

How does the image compare with the Criterion DVD?

I love the film, as well as the source novel, but, if there's not much in the way of improvement, I'll pass on this BD.

Finney's depiction of a runk is one of the best on film.

I bought this mainly for Albert Finney's tour de force. Jacqueline Bisset also gave a very good performance but Anthony Andrews was surely miscast (far too conventional in appearance and manner for the character's personality). The film has great atmosphere and uses the Mexican locations wonderfully but I've always hated the ending.
