Default Steelbooks and 3D

I was looking at Godzilla I don't want to buy it, but I noticed that the steelbook did not include the 3D copy of the movie, why would they do that?

Depends on what version you're referring to. Godzilla had so many different steelbook releases and several of them came with the 3D disc.

Warner in Canada & US... very confusing. Godzilla 3D steelbooks were released in other countries though.

P.S. Did you mean "I do want to buy it"? I'm confused why you are comaining if you DON'T want to buy it.

Check out Godzilla's Week 1 3D Sales:

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=15072

It was number 4 behind 3 older movies.

Retailers pay for the manufacturing of Exclusives. They're no longer willing to spend money on things that don't sell. (Heck, they don't even want to carry physical media anymore.)

Why is this even a topic?
The movie is garbage anyway.

Just don't worry about it.

Do you have a list of topics it is OK for people to start?

It's a valid question and it could have been for any movie that was released in 3D in theaters but the Blu-ray/SteelBook doesn't include it...

The OP said he didn't want to buy the film anyway.
I'm just curious as to why he started a topic on a film that he's not going to buy. Seems pointless to me.

He didn't start a topic on a film he didn't want to buy. He started a topic on "Steelbooks and 3D" and used a movie that he didn't want to buy as example. He could have used "Green Lantern" or "Hercules" from the US as an example (don't know if that would have been better, though...).

Depends on the film for me. I saw Godzilla in 3D in the theater and I felt it was barely noticeable. It's a very dark movie to begin with. So it did not matter to me if I got it in 3D or not.

Some films I do want the 3D though. Just varies depending on the film and usually if it was a native or converted film.

I stopped buying a lot of steelbooks here in Canada since they stopped including the 3D version. Content outweighs packaging in my opinion.

Amen. Skipped multiple steelbooks this year to buy the 3D version instead. Really wish they included the 3D more frequently.

I don't believe any Steelbook came with the 3D disc, only some Futurepaks.

Are you speaking of US/CA Steels now or globally? Because the HMV SB have 3D included:
