United Kingdom UV in the UK/Ireland

Hey guys,

what is the best way to watch your VUDU or Flixster digital collections in the UK & Ireland?

what media streamers/devices can they be accessed from or what do you use yourself?

Very new to actually using UV!!

I use Flixster on my iPad for my UV copies. We don't have VUDU, do we? I wish there was an app for smart TVs.

We don't, but I know a few users in the UK who use it with a proxy. I find the Flixster app stutters alot when playing back video. I also hate the fact it only allows SD downloads.

I'm with Phil92, Flixster seems to be the easiest service to use, and you need an account to redeem Warner Bros. and Universal UV codes anyway...

Flixster is the easiest to use, but in my experience the quality has been utter shite.

I also use the Flixster app on iPad. It looks like it might also be available via the Amazon Fire TV box. Should find out later this week. I've a few codes that I've been given so don't own the physical media to view on TV otherwise.

Flixster is total dog toffee. I gave up using it a long time ago. I don't even redeem my UV codes anymore. I just find it annoying that you're restricted to watching UV films in a single app; why third party apps can't be allowed I don't know...

The idea is control, the studios want to control it, so you can't remove the DRM or do anything that might be useful/helpful/interesting with it. If they allow third party apps with an API or whatever, they have to relinquish that control and they don't want to...

I just think the whole thing is daft. It used to be fine when it was iTunes copies they gave away (if you're an iTunes user of course...), but there is no way of playing it (easily) on a TV for example.

Blinkbox is now ultraviolet compatible. Also it can be used with the Google Chromecast which streams the films in 1080p. The only downside is that I have to use my Nexus 7 to control it via the Blinkbox app rather than my Nexus 5 as there is no app for it yet. One thing to mention is that not all my UV movies in my flixster account appear on Blinkbox as it must a rights issue.

They didn't like the lack of control with iTunes, so they set up their own system. And in Sony and Warner Bros.'s case now own the infrastructure. (Warner Bros. own Flixster.)
