Default Vizio will make the "Worlds best tv"

Vizio: We've made the best TV in the world

4K resolution
A color gamut that approaches the lofty heights of Rec 2020
A true 10-bit panel, for finer color gradations.
A full-array local dimming LED LCD backlight complete with 384 zones and "incredibly precise" control thanks to "Active Pixel Tuning."
A searing 800-nit Ultra Bright backlight combined with Dolby's own HDR processing for more realistic contrast.
Connectivity includes five HDMI inputs, all blessed with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compliance
it also supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi, with "dual band MIMO support for UHD streaming."

I didn't spot a price but it got me thinking about an upgrade especially since it supports 48fps and I just upgraded to a zt60 3 weeks ago....

If only it was a plasma....viewing angles are also deal breaker for me in any case

They won't have 3-D on any new models. They just walked away from it.

I was just saying this to myself. Ha ha. Got the upgrade fever now? I know how you feel, but the ZT is going to spoil you on blacks. You won't want to give that up once you have been spoiled. I'll wait for OLED before I upgrade again.

How is Vizio as a brand? I haven't heard good or bad about them, I know they are affordable.

I have the M501d-A2R and I love it! This is my first 3DTV. I got it from Best Buy on Black Friday for $599.99 and I'm definitely impressed with it.

Our first FS was(is) a 47" Vizio that Costco was blowing out on Black Friday back in 2010 and we love it. You'll have people on here that will point out the high returns on these, but I think that is usually user error more than anything.

That's totally untrue at least in the case of one model. The early E601-A3 models had a known issue causing the dreaded dead screen as well as other issues involving the video board, which even they admitted to a higher than normal failure rate on their own website. They offered a new replacement set or repair of the existing set at no charge for the affected sets. I know because I had one! They even extended their warranty another year for early units within the affected serial number range, which was also widely reported on another forum (AVS).

The good news is that Vizio really does a great job with their customer support/service, which is located in the U.S., I might add. Also, their picture quality is as good if not better than most of the more well known brands. I have two Vizios, a 60" and 37" (which I've owned for almost 4 years without a problem). I would easily recommend this brand to anyone looking for a LCD set. They're a great value and their customer support is one of the best I've ever encountered.

Im sure what im about to say will make you love your ST60 even more. The ZT60 does have the best black levels available right now but the ST60 isnt that far off. In fact its very very close...I know this because I brought home an ST60 not too long and verified this myself.

I know for a fact OLED will satisfy even the most critical viewer for its black levels and I can only wait for a 65" OLED to be available. I was even thinking I should wait until a 65" would come out but right it doesnt seem like it would be any time soon and I cant wait that long lol

Your ZT60 will have better PQ than this vizio. No need to upgrade. Cotrast ratio is more important than resolution.

Hopefully they will go back to 3D.

I think all UHD sets can do passive 3D pretty easy... so why not?

Hopefully in a couple of years I can just pick something like this up at my BJ's (cost club similar to Costco but not exactly). Currently my BJs has plenty of Vizio but not this new stuff yet.

thats a funny article since the 4k oled's from both lg and samsung that are already out are better tv's then that. but it still an interesting tv even though i like many others will wait on consumer friendly pricing for oled set.

Price, and technology. 4K disc is going to be expensive. Bundling 3-D on a disk is a daunting task, considering the space required.

And the price - with the current high cost of 3-D disks, do you think a 4K disc in 3-D is going to be the same price? They're trying to get another $10 per disc for 3-D now. What will they want to charge for 4K 3-D?

Some fans may really want to see a 3-D cartoon for $40, but not many. I'm not saying people won't like it; they just won't buy it, and the rental model is pretty much dead.

Sounds like a good TV with the rec 2020 colour gamut, and 10 bit colour, but media shown on the TV has to be coded in a 2020 colour gamut with 10 bit colour.

For those asking if Vizio TVs are any good, it is like any other tv manufacturer. I always check reviews as some models are better than others. My Vizio isn't one of the newer LEDs ,but I bought it based on the praising reviews. I paid $1,200 for my '55 inch LCD Vizio and the PQ is fantastic! It beats the '46 Sony Bravia that I had paid $2,300 for back in '09 by a long shot. Better contrast ratio, more colors,it has four hdmi hookups and is a smart tv too. I made sure I calibrated my PQ settings and I bought a good quality (not expensive) hdmi cable for my bd surround system to tv. http://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-UL...e+media+bridge
Believe it or not an hdmi cable can make a difference. I noticed improved PQ and more colors after I switched out my old cable that I had bought in 2009
