I may be ordering my first ever TV online and was wondering how these things ship. It would be coming from Amazon and I've never had trouble ordering anything from them before.
It's just I keep thinking about the TV getting thrashed around and everything. I mean people must do it all the time and I don't read horror stories. Anyone have any experience? If it matters it's a 50inch LED. |

Best Buy will often match Amazon. There are 5 brands that Amazon and Best Buy get from the same wholesaler. So any manufacturer end deal...both retail chains get. Meaning they both make the same money...at the same retail price.
I actually had Best Buy match an Amazon warehouse deal on open stock. |

I've purchased 6 TVs from Amazon, ranging from 32" to 60", and never had an issue. Last year when I ordered a TV the carrier gave me a 4-hour window for when the TV would be delivered, but said they'd give me a call around half an hour before it was delivered so I wouldn't have to sit at home waiting for delivery. That may depend on the carrier though since Amazon can't use companies like FedEx or UPS for bulk items.

I've had a few friends that have worked both UPS and FedEx loading docks. From what they told me, more than a handful of TVs get broken, and it was probably one of the most broken item when they worked there.
Even retail stores like Best Buy can be pretty rough when unloading stuff, the benefit there is you can tell how roughed up something is before paying for it. Personally, I would try to price match it at a local store. |
