Anyone have any idea on what the customs/tax charges might be on this to bring into the UK? I've never imported before so I'm not quite sure how it all works.

On Amazon U.S choose AmazonGlobal Expedited Shipping, it will pay the customs fee if it gets stopped over in the UK, if it doesn't get checked then Amazon will refund you the money set aside for customs fees in a few months.

Cool thanks. I see at the checkout that the deposit is included in your amazon total. I take it then that means they don't actually take the deposit from your bank until the item has been dispatched?

Yeah, they don't take any money until it's dispatched.
