Universal Studios Roger Waters: The Wall (2015)

Roger Waters: The Wall Blu-ray PRE-ORDER

NEWS/TRAILER
https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=17649

Quote:
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has revealed that it plans to release on Blu-ray Roger Waters: The Wall (2014). The release will be available for purchase on December 1.

Synopsis: Roger Waters, co-founder and principal songwriter of Pink Floyd, fuses the epic and the personal in Roger Waters The Wall, a concert film that goes well beyond the stage. Based on the groundbreaking concept album, Roger Waters The Wall could be called a concept film: it's a state-of-the-art show that dazzles the senses, combined with an intensely personal road trip that deals with the loss Roger has felt throughout his life due to war.

On stage and now on film, Waters has channelled his convictions into his art and his music. With Roger Waters The Wall, Waters – together with his fellow musicians and his creative collaborators – brings audiences an exultant ride of a rock and roll concert, and delivers an unforgettable, deeply emotional experience.

Coming to cinemas worldwide on Tuesday 29 September, including The Simple Facts, an exclusive in-conversation between Nick Mason and Roger Waters. Find your nearest cinema screening and book tickets at http://www.rogerwatersthewall.com

Poor Roger, he just can't seem to get over himself.

He needs to move on from the 'Floyd. He claims to have written "lots" of new material but "can't find a collaborator to work with".

I'm not a Roger Waters fan, but I am a huge Pink Floyd fan and also know several people who attended one the shows here in N.A. and Europe. They all said it was truly spectacular. As such, I will definitely pick this up.

I do hope with the release of this film that Roger now stops milking The Wall, as enough is enough.

I didn't go to his concert in my town for this tour, but I did go see him during the DSotM tour he had around a decade ago. He puts a hell of a show, and since I'm not into his newer material I'm ok with this milking of Pink Floyd lol. I see my dad picking this one up, like he did with In the Flesh and The Wall in Berlin. David Gilmour will probably do the same next year when he's done with his current tour.

I saw him on the first leg of the tour (2010) in Auburn Hills. I loved it, especially never having seen Floyd or any of its members live. I knew the tour was too spectacular for it not to be documented, and I'm glad that's being done here. There's a one-off screening of this in my city this week (or maybe it's next week) but I'm going to hold off for the disc.

I saw PF in Montreal in 1977 during the In The Flesh tour, which was the last concert of that tour. IMO he is a marginal guitar player, a poor singer, but an excellent lyricist. YMMV.

He has not produced a body of work since 2005 and has only worked on The Wall. Enough already Roger......show me something new.

When did he say that? The last thing I recall is that he had put together a demo for his new solo album and was starting to work on it in earnest. It sounds like an interesting project and if it's half as good as AMUSED TO DEATH I'll be happy.

I saw his WALL show twice and it was spectacular both times. I'll be getting this Blu-ray for sure.

I saw him in concert on the Wall tour in Kansas City back in 2010 when I was just 17, and I'm seeing the actual original film of The Wall in theaters tomorrow night at the local AMC for that nationwide event they're running. I'll be picking this up day one as I'm a huge fan and I'd love to see the concert again!

More details here http://www.billboard.com/articles/re...ll-film-review I really hope this is the end of The Wall for him (apart from releases of the Alan Parker film and the Berlin concert). Apparently he's just split from his wife and there are rumours of an autobiography.

Poor Roger, that'll be wife number 4 that he's divorced.

Just so you're not disappointed… that "nationwide event" you're seeing tomorrow night at AMC is a one-night theatrical screening of this new blu-ray: the 2010/2011 concert of Roger Waters' The Wall. It is NOT the original film "Pink Floyd The Wall" (which still desperately needs a blu-ray release).

Incredible film, 4.5/5 in my opinion.

[Show spoiler]The introduction by Liam Neeson was very heartfelt and was a good start. I'm afraid I don't know enough about concert venues to know which stadium he was playing in, but if I had to guess I'd say somewhere on France due to his memorial speech before the concert. The production and cinematography was amazing and was intercut with scenes of Waters travelling to the military cemeteries of both his father and grandfather.

Also, (although I personally didn't get to hear it in Atmos at the local AMC), at the end of the credits I saw a note that said "Dolby Atmos in select theaters", so I'd say there's a decent chance it will show up that way on Blu-ray as well!

Also, I can say with a certainty that David Gilmour isn't on the main concert film that I saw last night, but I think that if the press release is to be believed they will be showing the O2 concert in the UK with him and Nick Mason joining Waters on the Blu-ray to be released in December.

Dolby's facebook made great mention that the movie was being presented in Atmos sound, just none of the DC metro area were being presented as such (damn it).

Yeah I was a bit disappointed by that. I had a free ticket certificate so I didn't have to pay but a few bucks for the movie, but for the $18 price point that they were demanding I would have liked to have seen them bump Everest from the AMC Prime lounge just for one showing at 8PM last night.

Caught this in theaters last night, what a great watch it was. The live footage was unbelievable. The amount of stellar musicians in Rogers current band really does The Wall justice. There was also a nice bit after the feature of a conversation between Roger and Nick Mason which was worth the wait. They answered a bunch of questions sent in by fans.

The only disappointment was my local theater wasn't equipped with atmos. Still a great watch.
