Default 720p-1080p??

Right now I am have an infocus 4805 projector. I am using it in a completely dark room. Now that I have a blu-ray player for my 1080p rptv. I would like to upgrade the projector. I just don't have the cash for a true 1080p projector. If I went with a 720p projector would I really notice a HUGE difference? I assume it would still look much better than my regular 4805 projector? Also, the screen size is around 100".

Thanks!

I'm using the Mitsubishi HC3000 (720p/1080i projector) with a 106" screen, and all I can tell you that movies on Blu-ray look pretty amazing on it. You'll be hard pressed to find a difference between 1080i/1080p when viewing beyond 10 feet anyway. I recommend the Mitsubishi HC1500 because it is a lot of projector for not a lot of money. You can get it for less than $900. It will hold you over just fine until 1080p projectors become a little more affordable.

How far are you going to be sitting away from the screen??? Here is a chart that might help you decide whether 1080p is right for you!!!

http://s3.carltonbale.com/resolution_chart.html

If you aren't sitting very close, like beyond 15ft, I think you will be very happy with a 720p projector, but any closer and it would be a tough choice on which one to go with!!! Either one you will be more then happy with the PQ, especially compared to your SD projector!!!
