![]() ![]() I have to admit they sold me with their inclusion of same-sex couples in the teaser trailer. Very cool. Here's a link to the teaser: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=106107 Some people will be up in arms though, like the religious nut in the comments section of Coming Soon. |

![]() EDIT: Well it doesn't even look like Same Sex couples have anything to do with the film, it just seems like a throwawayable gag for the teaser. Brave and clever, but nothing in correlation with the film. Anyway here's hoping the film is good, we've got long enough to wait until we see it. ![]() Last edited by Foggy; 07-02-2013 at 09:34 PM. |

Yes. And this is also from Focus Features. So kudos to them for their continued bravery in including gay characters in their animated films. Of course I'm unsure if there will actually be any gay characters in the actual film. Could just be for the teaser.

I like their films as well although they're generally not for a really young audience... personally I think there are some oddly creepy elements to the movies that would disturb small kids. These would be kids who would likely get creeped out by Wizard Of Oz (Judy Garland film). All depends what the kids are weaned on I imagine but I love animation and stop-motion involves so much intricate, pain-staking work that it always impresses me.

Y'know, the more interested folks really....should stop taking these things so seriously. ![]() (I'm still not quite persuaded on box characters though. I'd need a little more hook for a fantasy creature than having them be totally cool and multipurpose.) |

No many aren't for kids and weren't made to be but many people assume that because it IS animation, it must be for kids but as far back as Fritz The Cat, it was clear animation is an art form for different groups of people. Any adult who assumes cute characters equal a kid audience are in for a nasty shock if they don't do their homework on a film. What I'm saying is that anyone reading the post who might make that assumption should be aware that these films are NOT for young kids.

saw the new trailer in front of Frozen last night. It showed the artists creating the pieces and really showcased the craftsmanship that went into physically creating every tiny detail, helping set it apart from all the computer-animated flicks out there. The story is whatever, but just the fact that this is from Laika has me sold and I'll be there day one to see this.
