Gorgon Video will be releasing a two-fer Blu-ray of two Arthur Marks exploitation films from the mid-1970's, namely THE ROOMMATES and A WOMAN FOR ALL MEN. Amazon lists the street date as March 24, 2015. Haven't seen these films myself, but I enjoy seventies exploitation flicks.

Thanks for the update! Been looking for more news about these since they were announced some time ago. Arthur Marks had some unique films and these two will complete my collection save for the scarce George Hamilton film Togetherness.

Earlier today, I watched both movies on my Gorgon Video Blu-ray of The Roommates/A Woman for All Men.
Both movies look and sound amazing on this Blu-ray. The Roommates, which has what is quite possibly the best opening sequence in the history of cinema, is my clear favorite of the two. The Roommates...where do I start? Well, if you put Friday the 13th (1980) and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005) into a blender, then you might end up with something like The Roommates. A group of gorgeous school friends spend a summer at Lake Arrowhead and each enjoy a series of romantic adventures and misadventures. All the while, a mysterious person in black prowls around the resort area killing beautiful women. While it's not difficult to predict the identity of the murderer, the movie does do a fantastic job of generating some moments of real suspense, and it amps up the intensity during some of the kill scenes. There's nothing too gory in this proto-slasher, but there's plenty of nudity for everyone. This is 1970s fun-spirited sleaze at its finest. Laurie Rose, who plays a camp counselor, is one of the hottest actresses whom I've ever seen in a movie. My eyes were glued to the television every second that she was on the screen. I'd love to see more of her movies on Blu-ray. I'm now enjoying the commentary track for this film as I post this, and I keep getting distracted by the babes. A Woman for All Men, which proudly wears the influence of Double Indemnity on its sleeve, is a little slower than The Roommates, but it's another enjoyable 1970s cult flick that is not greedy with the nudity. The hot age-appropriate Judith Brown is a homewrecker of the first order, as she marries a construction tycoon and weasels her sexy way into his family relationships by sleeping with one of the sons, played by Andrew Robinson (Hellraiser), and freaking out the daughter, played by Patty Bodeen. The family in A Woman for All Men has to be the most dysfunctional family in the world of cinema. Seriously...what other family sits in the living room to watch a slideshow of nude glamour shots that the father took of the stepmother? It's all in the good 1970s fun, though. Yesterday, I really enjoyed watching my Gorgon Blu-ray of Bonnie's Kids/The Centerfold Girls, but I'd have to hold this Blu-ray of The Roommates/A Woman for All Men just as much. All four of these movies are essential viewing for any of you who are interested in 1970s drive-in cinema. |

Just wanted to necrobump this and remind those that are into the 70's grindhouse era that MPI released two grindhouse double features long ago that are still in print and at a decent price:
![]() The double feature The Roommates and A Woman for All Men as is stated in this thread... ![]() ...And Bonnie's Girls paired with The Centerfold Girls. Interestingly, Bonnie's Girls got a nod from Tarantino in Pulp Fiction when he named a scene "The Bonnie Situation". |
