Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018) [No 3D Blu-ray]

I saw the trailer in 3D in front of Justice League. It looked very decent (medium). Fingers crossed for a 3D Blu-ray this time around.

Is this getting the 3D treatment in the US? The trailer was only shown in 2D the last few times I went to the theater.

Doubt it, it's only been mentioned as IMAX and premium large formats when I've seen the trailer and the second one was international only.

Hang on now, we've had this excitement before only for monumental disappointment when it comes to the home release. A 3D blu ray this time would be great.

Or maybe Germany will put out a 3D double disc set of the 3D movies like they did with Hunger Games.

I am still sore about Scorch Trials not getting a 3D blu.

I don't know if the trailer is converted separately from the movie. But if the final product ends up with the same quality, it would be a huge waste if not released.

That's the only way I'll ever watch this, if they release Scorch Trials and Death Cure on 3-D blu. I went to see ST in 3-D at the cinema and enjoyed it, but I refuse to buy the flat version.

Fox studios keeps dangling 3D in front of us then yanking it away like with Alien Covenant. Kept promoting it as 3D then pulled the rug out from under us at the last minute.

Two things:

1. This could have a 3D international release only, with Fox saying "**** you" to the US.

2. They will show the 3D in the next trailer, although that's unlikely since it has PLF and IMAX.

I saw this on Wikipedia though:
Maze Runner: The Death Cure was originally set to be released on February 17, 2017, in the United States by 20th Century Fox, but the studio rescheduled the film for January 26, 2018 in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D, allowing time for Dylan O'Brien to fully recover from his injuries sustained on-set.

To be fair, they never promoted that as 3D. A lot of ticketing sites listed it as 3D, but they did it on their own, probably assuming it would be (same thing happened with Justice League, where some American ticketing services had placeholders for IMAX 3D showings, but no actual showtime listed since its IMAX 2D only).

Only time I recall Fox outright pulling 3D from a film promoted as such is Fantastic Four, and that film had a lot of problems.

I coulda sworn I saw a few 3D trailers for Alien Covenant when at the theater and then a short time later they stopped doing them and the 3D vanished altogether.

I think so. Ironically, before Thor: Ragnarok, I actually got 3D trailers.
I got the 3D trailer for Maze Runner: The Death Cure. It was medium and it looked decent. Not surprised since we had The Scorch Trials in that format.

For what it's worth, IMDB is showing 3-D on this one. We'll see if it gets a release -- in theater or disc form -- at some time.

No, I don't think The Maze Runner was in 3D at all, and there were no Blu-ray 3Ds for the sequel--just empty placeholders.

Surprisingly there's IMAX 3D schedules here(philippines) but no regular 3d. Still can't decide if i'm gonna see it though when it comes out.

I'm getting it in 3D next week (also had The Scorch Trials in 3D theatrically), so I'll check it out since I enjoy the series.

No 3D showings listed up in Washington state. I see showings for 3D in other parts of the world but looks like the US isn't going to be getting any 3D?
