No More New Tires?

What's going on that many cars besides mine can't get 14" anymore?

I do not want a new car or another vehicle unless its older than my 1997 Saturn SL1 which I have had and maintain since I had it my senior year (2000-2001) in high school. I have finally my first flat a week ago and waiting on a replacement but if this happens to the other tires can I afford anymore if their available or possibly save some money and stockpile some so I can drive the most reliable car I've know?

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say but are you suggesting that tire manufacturers are discontinuing 14" tires?

OP must be in small town nowhere that barely stocks anything over a 17 either.

I have an AH Sprite on 13. I could buy a tire today.

By the way...I live small town nowhere...where somewhere is 45 minutes in any direction.

You could go with a larger rim, which may look more cool, and a lower profile tire. Toyo, Goodyear etc have tire configurators so you could find the outside diameter of your 13s and compare the o.d. on 14s.

I put too much unnesarry stuff but I was told by a worker at NTB that apperantly the size is discontinued so they can order one now but there won't be anymore in the size.

I've never had flat on this car until now. If I get another flat I'm worried I have only this chance to get tires or will this size be in production still or not?

No they are not discontinuing that size. Maybe THE tire you happen to have, sure.

Too many cars out there running 13 and 14 inch wheels.

He didn't say the tire I have but maybe that's what he meant because I couldn't figure out how everyone that has the same size as me would be able keep on the road.

I can I suppose ask him what he was meaning. Hopefully I can have it fixed. I hate driving on the spare so it stays mostly parked.

I'd check, it should say the model and measurements on the tyre wall. That way you can do a search on-line for replacements. Even if they discontinue the model, there should be a healthy stock around the country.

Also, you might be able to get the tyre repaired, if it suites the requirements then it can be fixed.

Probably another time then as I was told the tire should be in by Thursday. it couldn't be repaired

Do you have cookies disabled? I also noticed Tirerack just updated their web site so maybe it was a temporary thing but the link still works for me.

It's a listing of 14" tires that fit your vehicle that Tirerack sells and are in stock. They have 10 different models for your vehicle at the moment.

I am getting a new tire which is on its way. I must have misunderstood the guy so maybe this thread was unnecessary.
