Yeah, try just turning off the wifi connection your system settings (or unplugging the cable if you're using a wired connection). Chip's right sometime's older BDs spend a lot of time trying to connect to dead servers when they're played in internet connected players. If they don't detect a connection they don't even try. I don't recall SotL being a connected disc though, could be wrong though.

I am having the same problem with the same movie. It loads the piracy warning and then a digital download clip and then once it gets to the movie's menu, it shows a quick loading circle then black screen. No sound or anything. The pop up menu works but nothing else can be done. I have tried everything short of factory resetting the xbox. (I have a one S) I uninstalled the app multiple times, disconnected it from internet trying with no internet, then wired internet, then wireless internet, turned off the LIVE feature in bluray settings. I turned off resume playback. I turned off sharing of any kind with anything online thinking it might be a HDCP issue, which led me to change the HDMI cable, try other hdmi ports and factory reset my TV. I rebooted my internet modems. I am out of things to try. I tweeted XBOXsupport but they could not provide an answer. I took the bluray to a friends xbox one s and it resulted with the same problem (which I was kind of relieved). Both xboxes play any other DVD and Bluray just fine and Silence of the Lambs was working previously, it's in mint condition and I watch it all the time so I am really disappointed. I hope there is a fix for us!

Haven't run into this too much, but have been having issues with the laser being a little sensitive with some of my Netflix BD rentals as of late. Cleaned them as best as I could and still wouldn't play. Ended up watching a chapter downstairs on my BD player. What movie are you experiencing this in?

I just tried turning my Xbox one offline. I put in the 2008 movie Mirrors with Kiefer Sutherland. Everything seems to load up fine previews and such and then when you get a picture of a loading screen for a lot of movies it pops up real quick then disappears and now I'm just facing a black screen. No sound, no chance to skip, nothing.
