How are the Gundam Anime Legends DVDs? - Blu-ray Forum

I was thinking about getting Gundam 08th MS Team. I have the singles but I was wondering if there was any upgrade to Anime Legends (better encoding and what not..)

I know we might be getting Gundam in Bluray! But I can get a great deal on the anime legends DVD

Can anyone post some screen shots from the legends set?

There are no changes and there is no reason to count on any Gundam besides what's already out coming to Blu-ray.

If you're interested in Gundam Wing the European PAL Region 2 Anime Legends set from 2010 is worth picking up. It's based on a restoration that was also used for the Japanese blu-ray set a year ago. Doesn't look bad upscaled.

The only Gundams that I know of where the Anime Legends sets were superior to the singles was the 0079 TV series that they released before Bandai Ent of USA went under, and Zeta Gundam, which got rid of the dubtitles on the first release and singles (although, alas, they still had the non-vocal opening).

08th got a bd release in Japan, so it's most likely in the pipeline for the US release lineup. I would be patient.

No point in buying it again for a slightly better transfer and then again on bluray or dvd when a brand new release comes out in another year or what have you.
