Default The Deep (Morpheus game)

Quote:
One of the very first virtual reality (VR) experiences for the PlayStation 4’s Project Morpheus, The Deep, now appears to have been expanded. More than just a technical demonstration, The Deep will see a consumer release for the head-mounted display (HMD), as was revealed at Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE) pre-E3 press conference, Los Angeles, today.

London Studios’ The Deep made its debut at the Game Developers Conference (GDC), San Francisco, last year. Since then VRFocus has experienced a number of different iterations of the technical demonstration, including one which featured the first implementation of Project Morpheus’ ‘social screen’ gameplay. Here, a second player could use a tablet to speak to the player wearing the HMD and retrieve sunken treasures marked through the use of a flare gun.

A long list of titles were confirmed for Project Morpheus today, and alongside the known full videogame titles such as CCP Games’ EVE Valkyrie and Reload Studios’ World War Toons, The Deep was listed as a consumer-orientated experience for the device. It’s not yet known whether The Deep will launch alongside the HMD early next year, nor whether other demo pieces – such as The Castle Demo – will be given the same treatment. VRFocus is at E3 this week and will report back with all the latest details on The Deep and other Project Morpheus titles from the show floor.
