Default =NEW= 3DS XL Data Loss

So pissed with Nintendo...
3DS issue:

I just lost ALL of my save data!
I upgraded my 32gb SDXC Micro to a 64gb SDXC Micro, I tried for nearly 5 days to get my data transferred and nothing I did could get the data to properly transfer over.
I formatted it correctly, FAT32, I tried 32 and 64 cluster sizes
I copy/pasted, dragged & dropped, cut and pasted, heck, I even Cloned the card.
Nothing worked.
I used every guide I could find on the internet all to no avail. In the end, I said screw it and wiped the 64gb card clean, re-re-re-re-re-re-reformatted it, put it in the =NEW= 3DS XL and am now currently downloading all of the games from the eShop again.
Not even the damned Save Data Transfer Tool/Back-Up thing worked!
Hundreds of hours in New Leaf, Resident Evil, Xenoblade and others all gone...
Nintendo NEEDS to fix this crap so that this never happens again when we upgrade to a new system or higher capacity cards in the future!
I've seen a bunch of people with the same issue online and those are years old complaints as of now. I wonder if those people ever got theirs taken care of!

6 days of trying to get it to work and nothing.
At least we have a StreetPass Weekend starting on Friday, I should be able to get back a lot of my StreetPass games finished...hopefully

ugh... The ONLY thing I had left to complete was getting the last Island's final few fish, I caught all of the rest.

A system transfer to upgrade an SD card? I thought you only needed a pc to copy/paste the files?

the system transfer is one of the reasons why I wasn't 'encouraged' to get the new 3ds, I did it once from regular to XL and that was enough, hopefully for the next system we will be able to just re-download our games on the new system

Nope. I'm using the same System, so I didn't do a System Transfer.
