Default BD player with CC Decoder recommendations

It seems I'm limited to a small number of manufacturers such as Sony, Panasonic, LG, Yamaha to get a player that has a built in CC Decoder.
I realize there's another thread similar to this one. I'm asking for opinions and experiences.
I emailed Oppo asking if they had plans to manufacture one, they said 'Not at this time'. They would be my first choice as I'm 100% satisfied with my 103.
Although I don't need a player to stream or any of the bells and whistles I realize most will have these. Just want a good player with a decent DVD upscaler.
Anybody have a player like this they're happy with?

I bought a Sony BBP-S5500. It has the Closed-Caption decoder and works great. $100 player. It will be used for all DVDs that are CC but not SDH. Tried 4 different discs and it worked great. The upscaling looks good too. My Oppo 103 will still be my main player but this makes a great back up.

I thought all players made since last January were required to have CC decoders? I guess the latest Oppo was designed before then, hopefully their 4K player will have one when it comes out.

I emailed Oppo before I bought the Sony. They told me they had no plans to include a CC decoder in their next player. Which is why I bought the Sony. I'd much rather spent another $500 or more to get an Oppo with a CC decoder built in. Oh well. The Sony really won't see a lot of use, it's just for older DVDs that aren't SDH but are CC.

I have seen this requirement mentioned, but the links I've seen about it just mention IP-delivered content, which would mean streaming providers.

If it really applied to all new Blu-ray players, I'm sure Oppo would comply. I've asked them several times myself, but they seem disinclined.

I can't imagine including a CC decoder would be that expensive? It seems a lot of these companies just don't understand that by helping people who want or need CC they would sell more units? Thereby make more money?
I bought the Sony but would have bought another Oppo in a heartbeat instead.
