United Kingdom The Inbetweeners Movie Blu-Ray

While I was in Blockbuster, I asked to see if they had a release date and they said Boxing Day. They did say it was only a prediction on the computers behalf but still it is better than nothing.

There's no announcement yet, and it would be rather silly to release a film this big on Boxing Day, thereby making it impossible to give as a Christmas gift.

I should think it will come just before Christmas if Four are smart, but you never know...

I disagree - I think it's perfect to release it on Boxing Day - the age range for this is mostly going to be 15 - 25 year olds and what do they get a lot of for Christmas? Gift vouchers. Which they'll be itching to spend!

There seems to be a biggish release on Boxing Day every year to exploit the consumers who got gift vouchers and cash for Christmas.

Boxing day sounds good, although I always thought actual films in the cinema were more likely to be released on this day than home releases.

Either way since I appear to not be seeing it in the cinema I'll get this .

Well I don't know, Rise of the planet of the apes, apollo 18, final destination 5 and cowboys and aliens are all out boxing day. Just hope this doesn't get pushed back to 2012.

Den of Geek are reporting a rumour of 12 December, which makes even more sense (and is ideal to ensure I can import copies for Christmas gifts), though it's nothing official at this point.

Also, the BBFC have classified the following*:

An hour-long Making Of and 45 minutes of video diaries (here)

27 minutes of Deleted Scenes (cert 18)

A video version of the film with this note:

Quote:
Remarks

Including identifying information provided by the distributor;- Widescreen,THEATRICAL VERSION,
*Run times may be at PAL speed.

Now all we need is for them to classify the supposedly '18' cert original version of the film--if it still exists--but at least we know the Blu-ray will very likely be an '18' and would then hopefully have those bits in the deleted scenes anyway.

The '18' cut (billed as "The Writer's Cut"):

Quote:
THE INBETWEENERS MOVIE is a comedy about four young men who have finished their A Levels and decide to go on holiday to Malia in Crete. The film is based on the TV series of the same name, and was originally classified '15' for cinema release in version cut in line with the BBFC's advice. However, this DVD version reinstates the material cut for cinema release and has therefore been classified '18' for very strong language, strong sex references and nudity.

Cover art, which looks final, and list of extras are now up on Amazon. It's Triple Play, and it looks like all the extras have been dumped on a second DVD disc.

I don't really like Sainsburys since they hold the money in your account, but even I can't say no to that.
