Limited Collector's Edition Includes Skin-Crawling Special Features and an Exclusive Master's Bust!

Experience the first season of TV's hottest, most blood-curdling sci-fi series from Executive Producers-Writers Guillermo del Toro, Carlton Cuse and Chuck Hogan – along with behind-the-scenes special features that explore the story’s journey from best-selling novel to hit show.

When a freak virus kills most of the passengers on an airplane, Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), head of the Center for Disease Control’s “Canary Team,” is immediately called to the scene. The only way to stop the terrifying disease is to face its source – a sinister supernatural creature whose evil intent seems more powerful than any force on Earth – in this chilling series that also stars Mía Maestro, David Bradley and Sean Astin.

Looks pretty cool. Still haven't seen the show but I wish I knew this was coming before I recently blind bought season 1.

I think this program is only going to be three seasons if it falls in line where the program is at currently at in line with the books. The first season already covered the first book and part of the second book essentially. I thought I even read somewhere that Guillermo del Toro envisioned this program as a three season program that would cover all the books with the third book taking up most of the screen time in the series. With that said, I'm gonna wait for the complete series in some type of box set, especially if it is gonna only be a three season program. If this was The Walking Dead I may buy this set since that program may continue for another 7 years, but this program is gonna have a short run.
As for the show, loved the look and tone. It started off strong, but like it was already mentioned by another user, it sort of lost momentum towards the end in the last 3-5 episodes. I do enjoy the whole concept of vampires being created through a parasitic organism, a worm, that over time alters the body and the drive towards blood. When the series gets to the third book, if the program follows the third book, things are going to get exciting and the pace should pick up with new twists enchanting the audience. So, I'm happy with the show, but not glued to it and overly excited every week for a new episode like other programs. If The Walking Dead is a home run, then The Strain is more like a solid double.

Got mine!

A little underwhelmed by the scale...maybe 8" tall including the stylized base.

Mine also had a big chunk of slag metal rating around inside the plastic bust. Got that out at least.

I feel like this show was so forgettable. I watched it all while it was live on TV, and I enjoyed it enough, it wasn't bad; I just don't really remember much of it. Nothing special.

Mind posting some pictures if possible? I'm curious.

that woulda been very cool. As I was not impressed at all with the first season makeup job of the master, I can't see myself buying this.

The base (plastic) is stylized to resemble wood, and has some of the carving pattern on the top – but it reads more like an old book.

Here's a pic of the giant piece of scrap metal that was rattling around inside mine...sent it to Fox Connect too – just so they're aware. Hope no one gets a sharp piece!

Will get some more pix when I'm home from work!

Currently debating whether $29.99 is a good price for this. Not sure if it will go lower when the new season comes out, but would like to add it to the collection since I've been meaning to start watching this series. Hmmm.

I doubt the price will decrease. It used to be $60 or so. 50% seems like way more than enough for this huge head.
