Best "first date" blu ray? - Blu-ray Forum

With Valentines Day approaching, what better time than to pick a blu-ray that is a perfect companion to a first date. Who goes on a first date in their own home? Well, probably no one, but perhaps today's movies aren't your thing so the cinema is out. Or maybe the two of you just prefer to have a "first dinner" at home and then drift to the TV. What film is your "go-to" first date blu?

I could come up with lots of wisecrack responses (like inserting my beloved Texas Chainsaw Massacre as a choice...)

Yet, in all seriousness, this would be my pick as far as recent films are concerned...

Other great choices abound, some surprisingly not even on blu yet! (Hello, A Good Year...)

Not Blade Runner. She wanted to watch my favorite movie and stupid me assumed she'd appreciate a slow burning neo noir that has Harrison Ford practically rape a woman in it. Never seen someone get turned off quicker hahah

"Shame" of course, your date will no doubt enjoy the part where he gets out his big fat salami and be expecting the same!

...Serious answer, "My Best Friend's Wedding" is good. It's cute, harmless and not that recent so she'll think it's a nice choice and may not have seen it in awhile. I'm assuming you're wanting suggestions for yourself so good luck!

True, it's a beautiful film to experience but not for everyone. I watched it with my gf years back and she didn't care for it. Plus she got really sad when HAL was
