Panasonic player will not access Synology server - Blu-ray Forum

I recently got a Synology machine. I cannot get the Panasonic machine to access it using "Network Drive." I have entered the correct IP address, share name and credentials and I even have SMB1 enabled on the Synology machine. I have a machine running Windows XP on the network and it interacts perfectly with the Synology machine (since turning on SMB1), but the Panasonic machine just throws a "Cannot connect" error. I also have a Western Digital My Cloud machine and the Panasonic machine interacts with that perfectly. Is there some setting I still have to change on the Synology machine?

You may have to get your hands dirty and use this solution that apparently gets Synology to work with Sonos devices, which are also SMB1-only. Sorry. SMB1 is beyond ancient and bad news in general.

I have SMB1 switched on. My Windows XP machine would not log in until I turned SMB1 on. My Panasonic machine, on the other hand, still does not access it. The person who had the problem with their Sonos devices only had them after turning SMB1 off.

I'm just saying that SMB1 is a hot mess and you're probably going to have to do a lot of poking around and experimenting (assuming there even is a solution, which isn't guaranteed), possibly to the point of doing weird Docker stuff. I hope it's not that difficult - Docker is real neckbeard craziness if you're having to bust it out for home theater gear - but it may be necessary.
