OMG this looks like the most amazing collectible ever built. I'd love it, but man, even ignoring the price, where could I put it?

Wink

This is the optional 1/6 scale Marty McFly figure that goes with the Delorean.
It's only $224.99.

Not shipping until March 2016? Wow, that's a long ways away.

I've got to wonder how much I could pick up a used deloreon for. I remember when this movie came out there was a deloreon driving around my home town, that car still turns head to this day.

I wonder if it's only one per customer. I would like to order five.

It looks beautiful, incredibly detailed. Should've come out in 2015.

HAHAHAHAHA....my thoughts exactly. Well that, and I enjoy being married, which would change if I dropped $700.00 on a car I can't drive or go back in time with to apologize to her before I bought it.

That's just too damn much money, unless you're taking home over $4,000 a month after bills. Even then, I'm not sure I'd spring for it.

This is a cheaper ($149.95), smaller (1/18 scale) alternative DeLorean from Hot Wheels.

It's not surprising, just disappointing. The price is ridiculous unless this is a limited production collectible. If only 1000 or less were made the price would be justifiable.....but I see no evidence of a limited release, unless I missed it.

Should be priced at $179.

Hot Wheels made a 1:18-scaled diecast version, and it currently tags for $150. Seeing as this new one is 1:6 and metal, I'd say $400 is respectable...but still too much for most people.

I had that Delorean and the Marty in the cart yesterday at Sideshow. The wife was like go ahead and order it. She wanted it too. Then I sat there and looked at it for a bit.
I'm going to Celebration VII in Anaheim on April 14th. I'm planning on spending quite a bit there. The I looked at it some more. Payment plan looked good. Since it doesn't come out until March 2016, I could do 8 payments of 77.00 which wouldn't start until this August. I'm like this would be no problem. I figure I don't start payments until 4 months after I'm back from Anaheim. Then my Jiminy Cricket kicked me in the head and I didn't order it. I have all the smaller Deloreans and that's good enough for me. I would much rather continue to grow my Star Wars collection.

Ok.... THIS POST MADE MY F#CKING DAY!!!

P.S. Yes... I do realize that it was posted in October 2014.

P.P.S. Shouldn't a MOD move this to the Official Hot Toys Thread?

Who's the target customer for this? Someone who has an extra $700 laying around for a toy that's only meant to sit on a shelf probably has enough to buy a real Delorean.

If you get one, be careful which towns you drive it through. You may turn heads for the wrong reason. There used to be a guy in the town that I live in who had a DeLorean. He also had a Pontiac Firebird with the red pulsing light just like Knight Rider. He used to always be driving the kids around town. It ended up that he was a child molester and the cars were all a part of his seduction.

Many a figure collector is the target audience. I'm borderline when it comes to these types of things. I have spent $250 to $300 on 1/6th scale figures of Thor, Iron Man, Indiana Jones, Superman (Christopher Reeve), The Joker (Heath Ledger), Jack Sparrow, Nathan Drake, and Baby Doll (Sucker Punch). I also have Marty McFly on pre-order and REALLY want this equally scaled Delorean to go with him. However, I can't afford anything higher than $500 for it... and that would have to be $500 after shipping + foreign conversion + import fees. So, it would have to be priced at about $400 USD to be feasible.

But, who knows... with tax season coming up, perhaps there will be some hope that I might be able to splurge.
