Looks like Target will be getting an Exclusive for Gotham Season One. Looks to be the same tin from Finland.

Was going to get excited until I noticed you wrote metal tin! The last one of those I recall coming out was the one for the Mad Max trilogy, and anybody who owns it knows how easily damaged it gets.

I'm going for the Best Buy exclusive instead. It will have an extra disc with additional content.

I'd be more tempted with Target's exclusive if it was a Steelbook. Though even then, I'd be reluctant. There's no guarantee that they will continue to have similar exclusive packaging for future seasons. And it would annoy me to get this exclusive packaging and have it be inconsistent with future releases.

I'm good, that show isn't that great anyway. The idea was interesting enough but the way they portrayed people and the characters were terrible.

Disappointing that this wasn't on sale this week. I bought the tin, but am trying to decide if $45+tax is really worth it. Maybe they'll have a sale next week or something so I can get a price adjustment.

So that's a G1 size flimsy tin with no slipcover on the actual normal Blu-ray case... Easy pass for me! Thanks for posting the pics kryptonite!

The blu-ray release of Gotham has been a disappointment all around: a G1-sized tin at Target and a bonus DVD at Best Buy.

Fox isn't even trying.

Don't you mean Warner Brothers? It's a WB show. It just happens to air on the Fox network. Fox has pretty much nothing to do with the home release.

I went for the Best Buy exclusive. It kind of sucks that it's a DVD instead of a Blu-Ray for the bonus features, but IMO it's still better than nothing. The G1 tin case is certainly a bad move, and I passed on that. And the only other alternative would be the standard release with no additional bonus disc at all.

Since the physical size of the case is the same regardless of the extra disc (and will not take up extra room on the shelf), there's really no down side to picking the Best Buy exclusive over the standard release.
