Default Amazon UK resealing pre owned DVD's/Blu rays and selling them as new

I just returned Line of Duty series 1 and 2 DVD because of a deep scratch on the cover, discs were used and scratched and got the exact same thing as my replacement today only the discs were worse and the shrinkwrap again was poor. I also had the same thing with lucy on Blu ray and Bridget jones diary 2 they came cling wrapped and scratched. I am buying with Amazon directly not marketplace and it's now putting me off buying from them and i'm a prime member. Has anyone else been having similar issues?

Yeeeeeeeeees! I've been getting a lot of these and it's getting really annoying. I got 2 replacements of a resealed Blu-ray last month, both of which were also resealed. So I just gave up and kept the best one (one of the discs was perfect and the case/cover was fine). But it's putting me off ordering any Blu-Ray's older than a year or two from them now. Another previous one wasn't sealed at all and was tatty as hell. As soon as I see that flippin' cling film resealed shrink wrap when I open the package, it's an instant aarrghh !

I've had this on a few titles with Ultraviolet, most recently Paranorman and Hotel Transylvania. Both the UV codes had expired, which I expect is why people wanted to return them (and why I also did) but I was just sent more expired ones in original packaging. They gave me a partial refund in the end and I returned the resealed ones.
I can only assume this happens so much that they prefer taking the hit on the few people that complain and most people that receive a resealed one don't know or care.

Sometimes they don't even bother to reseal. I've had two Acorn Video titles arrive without any shrink wrap.

This is nothing new. Whenever they try this with me, they lose money, therefore they may as well not have attempted to be deceitful in the first place. The item is always replaced with a brand new copy free of charge, and they also have to cover international shipping. I am not required to send the used copy back to them either, as this costs more than the item itself.

Does Acorn even seal in the first place? I got most of my Rumpole and Montalbano dvds from HMV and they were all unsealed.

Acorn don't usually seal, same with many ITV BD titles.

I don't think this has happened through Amazon UK for me. But a few months ago I received Spawn BD from Amazon.com that had its case badly smashed. So I was sent replacement from apparently Amazon.de (or atleast Amazon.com's warehouse in Germany) and they sent me a non-sealed copy of Spawn BD.

This has happened to me many times when purchasing from Amazon direct. I sent them photos of resealed vs factory sealed and they still denied that they were doing it.

Any film that is over a couple of years old or as part of their special deals they put on are more than likely going to be reseals going from the experience I've had.

Really? I thought some Australian labels were the only ones that still did - or rather, didn't do - that.

This may not be anything new but I still find this practice quite shocking. The fact that they make returning something a very simple process shouldn't justify them sending you resealed Blu-rays if you order them as new. The disc may be flawless (in many cases it's not) but that's beside the point. I hold them to the highest standards just like they held me when I sold through them so this practice is totally unacceptable.

I just think it's an issue with Amazon and how they store their goods, those cats on roller-skates just don't give the things we buy a second-glance, so resealed goods get mixed in with the new stuff.

I always ask for a replacement if I get one, but Amazon will never admit to resealing and shipping used/returned items as new, they'll always say it's a one-off boo-boo on their part.
