United Kingdom Dirty Dancing: Keepsake Edition

Pre-order up on Play.com with a release date of October 25th.

http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/1...n/Product.html

Will be a Blu-ray/DVD combi pack, and I wonder if this will have a new transfer. I heard the current release has a god-awful one.

I see this 2blu+1DVD set is only £8 at Amazon and Play, looks good;

Is the film any use though? This is one I've never got around to seeing, always seems to be talked about though.

It's definitely a classic, but that doesn't mean everyone likes it (I wasn't too impressed). It's definitely more a chick-flick, maybe catch it on TV or borrow off a friend first.

Was on TV the other day. :P

Price has gone back up to £11.99 on Play, but it's still £7.99 on Amazon, which is a steal for what you're getting - ordered!

Yeah I noticed play had upped the price too. I want to give this film a go, and this will be the best way to do that, so I've ordered it.

If I don't like it then I'll just give it to my sister;
"I've seen the movie so many times, I could act it out"

It wont be on there, they've had deleted and alternate scenes before and it's mostly stuff from the TV version of the movie.

It's up there with the Annie Wilkes lawnmower killing scene from Misery. Filmed but never to be released lol.

Nope just a DTS intro then straight into the opening credits with the Vestron Pictures text in the same font as the rest.

Is the new 30th Anniversary version better than the old release? I see it's only 1 disc, but the older version was 2 discs. Is it remastered or anything?

Got mine too. My UV code for it has just sold on eBay, which makes the net outlay about £6 for this swag-filled new edition. Nice.

Hi Geoff, How is the 30th anniversary compared to the The Ultimate Girls' Night In Collector's Edition BR ?

I have no idea, this is my first purchase of DD on Blu-ray because of how terrible the first one was said to be.

Thanks. I got mine as a gift. Did you watched yours ? What is your opinion on the image quality of the 30th anniversary edition ?

I've flicked through it, looks fine. Not great, but good enough.

From what I've read, it's just the same transfer as before, with some new extras but it also loses a bunch too. Not sure which version is better now, but I expect the old extras that were removed were considered a little redundant now due to the new ones.
